Smith Neapolitan Desk in Walnut Burl with Maple Inlay Inserts, 19th Century

Neapolitan Smith desk in walnut burl with raceme filleting adorning the front the sides and top. The main elevation features seven drawers, three of which are undermounted and flared upward, and four on the sides. The central part of the base incorporates a footrest that features the same inlay as the entire structure. The entire framework is inlaid with raceme motifs and is carried throughout including the top. The front opposite the main one appears to be mirrored. Provenance: 19th-century Naples.
