Louis Philippe Secretaire in Exotic Wood with Maple Interior, Naples, 19th Century

Antique Neapolitan Louis Philippe Secretaires belonging to the first half of the 19th century. The front is characterized at the top by an under-top drawer highlighted by the presence of a keyhole and a hinged door below containing a series of drawers and secret compartments. Below the face door are two drawers highlighted again by a round wooden spout and another drawer encased in the base. The two fluted cantons finish with finely carved elements in a leaf motif. The interior is made of maple wood typical of Neapolitan cabinet-making culture. Provenance: 19th-century Naples. Measurements: 107×49 H164cm.
