Colorful hand knotted wool hanging is probably a translation of the work of an artist. This was a time when modern artists work began to work with weavers who would translate their paintings into a tufted canvas. The resurgence of tapestries in the 1950’s and 1960’s became popular through technology mechanized tufting machine that emerged in the 1930’s. This allowed painters to explore a new medium which was time consuming and expensive into a world of texture and color.
